The Week in Review at HMS: Notes from Dr. Cockley
Week of April 20, 2026

Congratulations to 20 of our HMS Band students on their wonderful performances at the Solo & Ensemble Adjudicated Event this past Saturday, April 5, at East Community Learning Center in Akron. The event—sponsored by the Ohio Music Education Association—involves students performing a solo or small ensemble piece for a state-sanctioned judge. Hudson Band students participated in 13 individual performances and received 13 "Superior" ratings across the board, the highest rating possible! Congratulations, everyone!

What a phenomenal night at our HMS Orchestra Concert! Our 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade Orchestras, under the direction of Mr. Iriarte, were truly outstanding! We are always so inspired by the talent and hard work of our students! Bravo!

Big appreciation to our PE teachers and student leaders for leading morning warm-ups and breathing exercises on the announcements before OSTs - helping everyone feel energized, focused, and ready to do their best!
