Week of February 9, 2026

Congratulations to HMS Band members Maddox (percussion), Yo-Si (oboe), Jack (percussion), and Jack (tenor saxophone) for their successful audition into- and participation as part of the 2026 OMEA District 6 Middle School Honor Band! They spent their Saturday surrounded by some of our area's best middle school student-musicians, rehearsing together and putting on a wonderful concert after only several hours of practice. These young men sure represented Hudson Middle School well!

 

Suburban League Champs! Congratulations to both our 7th grade girls basketball team and our 7th grade boys basketball team for their victories this week! We are so proud of your teamwork and sportsmanship!

 

A heart-warming collaboration! Our 7th grade and 3rd grade pen pals teamed up this week to create Valentine’s for senior citizens in our community, sharing kindness and creativity! , and lots of smiles along the way.

 

Science in motion! 6th grade students stepped into the team learning area to move, measure, and model volume, mass, and density!.

 

For their warm-up in math class, students had to find their match! They paired up algebraic expressions with their matching word expressions: moving, thinking, and making connections!

 

During Advisory, our 7 Trailblazers explored the history and impact of Black Olympians and Paralympians - and celebrated the achievements of local athlete Laila Edwards! 

 

Exploring today, preparing for tomorrow! Career exploration in 7th grade led by our school counselor - students explored career clusters, job outlooks, education pathways, and the many possibilities ahead.

HMS Yearbook Order Window: due 2/14!

• Each year, our HMS Yearbook (hard-cover) is created and designed to commemorate the school year and showcase our HMS family! We are thrilled to offer the 2025-2026 HMS Yearbook to students/families through Jostens for $45.
• The order window is open through Saturday, 2/14. Please visit the Jostens Yearbook link (jostens.com/ybk) to place your order of your Hudson Middle School keepsake! 
• Yearbooks are delivered to HMS, and our goal is to distribute them at the end of this school year, for students to autograph and celebrate their year together!

2025-26 HMS Yearbook - Student Name

• In our school yearbook, student names are typically printed as they appear on their birth certificate.
• If the birth certificate name is OK to print for your child, you do NOT need to complete the form.  
• If you prefer that a different name appear in the yearbook for your child, please complete this Google Form by February 14 (for example, if your child is known by their middle name rather than their first name). 
• Thank you for your help with this as we create a book for our students that commemorates our school year together!

2/17 Chipotle Fundraiser for HMS Builders Club! 

• Tuesday, 2/17, from 4-8:00pm at the Hudson Chipotle
• 25% of event sales are donated to the Builders Club

P/T Conferences, 2/23, 8:00am - 3:00pm

• HMS Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, February 23, from 8:00am – 3:00pm. As a reminder, there will be no school for students in grades PreK - 8 on February 23. 
• If your child’s teaching team is requesting a conference, you will be contacted directly. 
• If you were not contacted by your child's teachers, please know that a conference is not required at this time. If you would still like to schedule a conference, however, we absolutely welcome you in to meet with your child’s team of teachers. 2/20 7th and 8th Grade Dance - sponsored by HMS PTO!

• HMS 7th and 8th grade students are invited to attend the 7th and 8th Grade BLACK OUT DANCE! Wear your black outfit with neon accessories to complete the vibe!

7th Grade Parent DC Meeting 2/24/26 at 6:00pm for Next Year’s 8th Grade Class Trip

We’re excited to share that plans are finalized for the Class of 2031 Washington, D.C. trip!

Trip Details:

• Dates: Tuesday, October 13 – Thursday, October 15, 2026
• Who: Class of 2031 (current 7th graders)

Parent/Guardian Information Meeting:

• Date: Tuesday, February 24, 2026
• Time: 6:00 PM
• Location: HMS Auditorium
• Length: Approximately 30–45 minutes

Meeting Topics:

• Essential trip details
• Overview of the itinerary
• Introduction to Bob Jackson and his team from Traveling Classrooms, our tour company

8th Grade T-Shirt: Class of 2030 - orders due by 3/1/26

• Attention Parents of 8th Graders: The link to order your student’s HMS Class of 2030 shirt is now available. Orders will be accepted through Sunday, March 1, and will be distributed at HMS approximately 2- 3 weeks after orders close.
