The Week in Review at HMS: Notes from Dr. Cockley
Week of November 3, 2025

Celebrating our HMS October Students Making a Difference! Thank you for the smiles, encouragement, and positive energy you share with everyone around you!

Congratulations to Charlee Skeen for breaking the HMS Cross Country record this fall with an incredible 11:23 two-mile run! Today, she received a commendation from Mayor Anzevino in recognition of this incredible accomplishment! Charlee, we’re so proud of you!

Huge congratulations to our incredible PE team - George Prokopovich, Erik Halm, and Jen Haney - for being named TEAM OF THE YEAR! They first learned the exciting news in May and were officially celebrated this week at the OMLA State Conference! We are so proud of this outstanding team and all they do for our students!

Thank you to Officer Logue and Detective Campbell for leading an engaging “Be Kind and Safe Online” presentation! Our students learned valuable lessons about digital citizenship and online safety. We’re so grateful for your partnership and all you do to keep our students and community safe!

POE Days are all about connection! Our middle schoolers love mentoring younger Explorers and discovering how much we can all learn from one another!
Important Notes:
11/10 No School for Students: a reminder that Monday, 11/10, will be a professional development day for grades 6-12. There is no school for students.
