The Week in Review at HMS: Notes from Dr. Cockley
Week of January 5, 2026
HMS wishes you a Happy New Year!

The HMS Media Center transformed into the HMS Readers Café today! Soft music, flowers, and tablecloths set the scene while students previewed new library materials and created personal To Be Read (TBR) lists!

8th Grade History students in the Team Learning Area discuss the Treaty of Paris - collaborating, thinking critically, and confidently sharing their learning!

Students bring ideas to life in Digital Art as they design and create digital flip books!

Our Team Learning Areas are a favorite spot! 8th graders settle in, collaborate, and tackle math challenges together!

Spreading Kindness! Our Take a Second, Make a Difference kindness bulletin board is off to a wonderful start, featuring daily kindness cards shared during morning announcements and reminding us that small moments can make a big impact.

Supporting a Great Start Each Day - AM Drop Off Time Reminders:
- To help our students’ school day start smoothly, please remember that HMS Homeroom begins promptly at 7:50 AM.
- Students should arrive and enter the main door by 7:40 AM, allowing enough time to visit their lockers and get to class ready to learn.
- Thank you for your continued support in helping our mornings run smoothly - we truly appreciate it!
