The Week in Review at HMS: Notes from Dr. Cockley

Congratulations to Hudson Middle School for earning 8th place at the US National Tournament! With a field of 50 state champions and 10 state-runner up teams, Hudson Middle School grabbed everyone’s attention and has established itself as a national powerhouse Science Olympiad program! The team finished in the top 10 in a whopping 11 of the 23 events, and earned a bronze medal in Microbe Mission (Anna Barger/Iti Desai), silver medals in Ecology (Anna Barger/Ryan Voigt), Fossils (Jonathan Wu/Steven Fodor), and Optics (Anna Li/Calvin Harvey), and are National Champions in Road Scholar (Matthew Matyja/Morgan Griffiths)!

A photo from last week’s 7th grade Science STEM Egg Drop project! No worries - that’s a teacher on the roof! Students designed a contraption to (hopefully!) protect the egg from the drop!

Field Days this week were PHENOMENAL! A huge thank you to our PE teachers for planning the days, our staff and volunteers for supporting the events and our students, and to our student participants! Togetherness, fun, and laughter - just what we needed this week as a school family!
