Voting on Island Society projects, just before beginning The Lord of the Flies in 8th grade LA class! The cheers were loud as the votes were tallied!
Thank you to Mrs. Xia’s 8th grade Mandarin students for teaching some of our 6th graders about Lunar New Year
Special thanks to Hudson Community First, for bringing guest speaker, Nathan Harmon from Your Life Speaks, to our community! At HMS, he spoke about hope, belonging, the power of good choices, and valuing people, with connections to our Portrait of an Explorer theme of Critical Thinking! Some other key points from his presentation:
- To reach our goals and climb high, we need peers, adults, and a community supporting us to help us succeed. At the same time, students were encouraged to make a difference for others, with this question: “Whose ladder are you holding?”
- We are better together.
- Each choice we make helps us reach our long-term goals. “Make the next right choice. And treat each other the next right way.”
- There is no other you. You are rare, unique, and valuable.
Thank you for visiting our school with your inspirational message!

2024-25 HMS Yearbook - Student Name
- In our school yearbook, student names are typically printed as they appear on their birth certificate.
- If the birth certificate name is OK to print for your child, you do not need to complete the form.
- If you prefer that a different name appear in the yearbook for your child, please complete this Google Form by February 14 (for example, if your child is known by their middle name rather than their first name).
- Thank you for your help with this as we create a book for our students that commemorates our school year together!
