The Week in Review at HMS: Notes from Dr. Cockley

This past weekend, five Hudson Middle School Band members participated in the 2025 O.M.E.A. Honor Band at Barberton High School.  These students rehearsed and performed among the "best-of-the-best" band students in our four-county region.  Congratulations to Ben (clarinet), Julia (alto saxophone), Grace (trumpet), Alex (percussion), and Jack (percussion) on a job well done!

Students share their in-depth work on their Ancient Egypt Museum projects, during a museum walk in Social Studies!

Medical Detectives students learned SO much from guest presenter, Mrs. Callahan! Students stained tissue to visualize a protein that can diagnose intracranial and spinal tumors.

Review session during math class! We love our team learning areas and flexible seating for small group work like this!

Thank you to our Hudson Police Department, in collaboration with Hudson Community First, for their presentation for parents/guardians at HMS on Tuesday, February 25: "What You Don't Know and Why You Should." Phenomenal information! We are so fortunate to have such dedicated individuals in our community who support the positive growth of our youth! THANK YOU!

Message from The Attendance Desk:

  • Leaving for Vacation or an extended absence?
  • Please have your child fill out an Advanced Absence Form, available in the office, no more than 2 weeks prior to their absences. This allows the teachers time to have their lessons available for the time your students will miss school.
  • Reporting or requesting Advanced Absence Forms earlier than 2 weeks ahead can lead to inaccurate attendance.
