The Week in Review at HMS: Notes from Dr. Cockley

During homeroom, students get their brains ready for the OST’s with help from our PE teachers and student leaders on the morning announcements! Box breathing, stretching, and right brain/left brain activities in the morning help us prepare for the assessments!

Check out these personalized tic tac toe boards that our creative students made in Sculpture class - WOW!!

7th Grade Science students extend their learning about elements through a collaborative periodic table, and the creation of a superhero or villain based on a chosen element!

A truly phenomenal performance by each of our HMS Orchestras this week at their concert! WOW! We are so proud of our students and their hard work - and a big thank you to Mr. Iriarte!

Painting and Drawing students show their creativity through acrylic painting - each chose an object and are learning about shadows and highlights to bring them to life!

Book clubs in 6th grade, based on the historical fiction of author, Jennifer Nielsen! A HUGE thank you to our PTO for providing grant funding for a variety of books from this author, to allow student choice!

Our Kindness board continues to grow throughout the year! We love this opportunity to highlight our students who are making a positive difference in our school - which are also shared on morning announcements to spread kindness at HMS!
