Important Notes:

HMS Announcements - Please feel free to visit this site daily for up-to-date announcements for our students and school!

Open House Nights:

Thank you to those who attended the 6th and 8th grade Open House events this week! We loved seeing you in our classrooms and hallways! And we heard from so many parents how appreciative they were of the evening.

We look forward to meeting our 7th grade families at our upcoming HMS Open House night on September 4, from 6:00-7:30pm.

A letter and schedule will come home with your child the day before the Open House event. Be sure to bring that schedule with you to Open House (or take a photo).

PLEASE NOTE: This is a different format than the K-5 Open House nights. In grades 6-12, our Open House format is designed to allow parents to walk through their child’s schedule to learn from each teacher about the course and curriculum.

Because our Open Houses are very well attended by parents/guardians, students do not typically attend.

Chromebook Insurance - by September 6:

HS Football Games:

Thank you for reviewing the email that was sent this week from our High School Athletic Director, Mike Chuppa, regarding our Elementary and Middle School students at the High School Football games. We truly appreciate your help with this! In part:

  • Middle school and elementary students attending games are encouraged to sit with their parents or families in the stands. Parents are responsible for the supervision of, or arranging supervision for, their children.

  • “The Hill” area is closed, near the endzone by the home stands and the visiting stands.

  • Roughhousing, throwing items, climbing on fencing and beams, and/or using profane language are strictly prohibited.

  • Please leave footballs at home.  They are not to be brought to the game.

Middle School Clubs and Extracurricular Activities:

In Final Forms, you may have signed up to receive email communication regarding certain clubs and activities at HMS. If you didn’t, no worries! Once those clubs begin, information will be shared on our morning announcements for students, and can also be viewed on our website: HMS Announcements. Our clubs haven’t yet started, but look for information to be shared in advance, once they’re ready to begin.

From Hudson Community First:

Hudson Community First welcomes you back to school. We are looking forward to a great year of programming for both parents and children! Find our Fall, 2024 Newsletter here:  HCF Autumn Newsletter (hudsoncommunityfirst.com)

Dress Code Reminder:

  • We appreciate your help and support, ensuring that our students follow our school dress code. We shared the dress code with students last week and will be asking that they follow it moving forward. A few specific items to note:

    • School dress should be similar to what would be appropriate for an informal workplace or place of business.

    • Shorts or skirts should be an appropriate length.

    • Clothing must cover undergarments, midriff and private areas.

HMS Food Services Positions Available:

  • Great hours! Great people!

  • We have a few openings in our amazing Hudson Middle School kitchen - the heart of our school.

  • The role may include food prep and serving, as well as cashier. It’s a great way to interact with our students, during this important time in their day.

  • The role is part-time daily from 8:30am - 1:00pm. We also have substitute roles available, for those who need a little more flexibility.

  • If you know of anyone who might consider this role, please reach out to them to share about this opportunity. You may know a retired friend, a recent graduate, or someone thinking about re-entering the workforce. Thank you so much for helping to spread the news.

  • Anyone interested can apply via our district website under Job ID 2580 (HMS Food Service) or Job ID 2038 (Food Service sub)
